But the most disturbing thing is that the plot is based on a real case: that of the Milwaukee Butcheralso known as the Murderer, the Caníval and the Monster of that US city where the brutal criminal grew up and spread panic, whose sordid story has already been brought to the screen on several occasions, such as the 2002 film starring Jeremy Renner.

The multiple nicknames were earned by Jeffrey Dahmer, a 31-year-old who on July 22, 1991 was arrested by the Milwaukee police accused of 17 murderscommitted between 1978 and 1991. All his victims were men (some just teenagers), with whom he used to repeat the same ‘modus operandi’: he invited them home, drugged them, strangled them and, once they were dead, practiced necrophilia and cannibalism with their corpses.

He once confessed that eating young meat gave him a continuous erection and kept him in a good mood.

His first victim was Steve Hicks, a young hitchhiker whom he invited to get into his car to smoke marijuana. Once in his apartment, he beat and strangled him. After masturbating and having sex with the corpse, he dismembered it.

The killer made a habit of dismembering his victims and disposing of body parts by dissolving them in acid or flushing them down the trash can or toilet. Over the years, he tried drinking their blood and eating part of their brains. He kept the genitals in formalin and boiled the skulls and kept them as if they were a trophy. He even experimented with creating zombies by drilling the heads of two of his victims with a drill.

The nightmare did not end until one of the boys managed to get out of Dahmer’s apartment alive and report him. The police found photos and blood of his victims in his house and, given the avalanche of evidence against him, the murderer ended up confessing his crimes in great detail.

He was sentenced to almost 900 years in prison (15 life sentences) and imprisoned in the Columbia Correctional Institution, from where he would not get out. A fight with another of the prisoners would end his life in 1994.
