(CNN Spanish) – After the success of “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Bobba Fett” on Disney +, Star Wars fans can be happy because the next two years will see more releases of this galactic universe both on the small screen and at the cinema.

Disney+ will premiere more series focused on the Star Wars universe with characters like Vader, Ahsoka and many more Jedi who will have their own stories in each of these new series. Among them is a new season of “The Mandalorian”, with which the streaming platform inaugurated these new projects.

Disney: Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader join the growing Star Wars universe

As for the movies, there hasn’t been a big-screen release of the Star Wars universe since “The Rise of Skywalker.” However, sometime in 2023 we may see “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” which, according to IMDB, is currently in development and will be directed by “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins.

We tell you what are the new Star Wars series and movies that have already been announced to be released in 2022 and 2023.

“Obi Wan Kenobi”

Among the most anticipated releases by fans is that of the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, one of the most beloved characters not only from Star Wars, but from all of pop culture. And if that’s not enough, Ewan McGregor, who played the wise (and younger) Jedi Master in the Star Wars prequels, reprises the role in the Disney+ series. Hayden Christensen is also returning, again playing the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

According to Disney, the series will hit the streaming platform on May 27.

Its second season won seven Emmy Awards for its visual effects and musical composition, among other aspects.

Jon Favreau writes and directs the series, set after the fall of the Empire but before the rise of the First Order. It centers on a lone warrior in the far reaches of the galaxy.
