Wednesday is no longer the Top 1 series on Netflix, it is surpassed by a guilty pleasure that few admit to watching

Wednesday came as a great surprise to Netflix: not because it was not expected to be well received, but because no one imagined that the series would compete face to face with stranger things in popularity.

However, that was the case, and for six weeks Wednesday has led the Top 10 of series most views of the platform, leading the list with an iron fist, or with Iron Thing.

The data collected has allowed Wednesday to stay very close to the mark of stranger things 4 in Netflix’s all-time Top 10, and relatively close to the undisputed leader of series Netflix Originals: the squid game.

All good things come to an end, of course, and Wednesday is no exception. The Serie original says goodbye to his crown in the seventh week after its premiere, although he remains in a more than worthy third place with 81.3 million hours of viewing.

What series has ousted Wednesday on Netflix?

Actually, there are two series that have outperformed Wednesday in the week between January 2 and 8, 2023: Kaleidoscope and season 2 of Ginny and Georgia.

Kaleidoscope is the series original of the platform inspired by a real robbery that, according to Netflix, we can see in the order we want. Its premiere on January 1 places it in the second position of the weekly Top 10.

The throne is claimed by the second season of Ginny and Georgia, the series created by Sarah Lampert. This “dramedy” follows a young woman and her mother who, after moving to another city to start over, are haunted by secrets from her past.

Although Wednesday has lost the throne, the Netflix series has already been officially renewed for a second season, quite an achievement on a platform where nothing is 100% certain until it is in the catalog.
