The NBA launches its new App: the all-in-one destination for fans of the league and its teams

The NBA announced today the launch of the NBA Global App reworked, an all-in-one destination for league fans of all franchises. Featuring all-new customization features, the NBA app will deliver content from every game in the competition, featuring vertical social-style videos, unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to players and teams, shows, new and existing series, and access to to the league archive.

The NBA app, a product of NBA Digital, the league’s joint venture with Turner Sports, is free to download.

In addition, the NBA has released NBA-IDthe league’s new global membership program that offers fans benefits and rewards from the league, teams and their partners. NBA-IDwhich is free, will link fan experiences with existing products such as NBA League Pass and NBA Pick’Em. Throughout the season, NBA ID members will have access to new original content and favorites from everything the league has to offer. Additionally, there will be enhanced experiences just for members of the NBA-ID such as ticket promotions, prizes through predictive fantasy games and NBA Pick’Em, voting campaigns and other benefits.

The new App is powered by the NBA’s new integrated digital platform, which was created in partnership with Microsoft, the league’s official cloud and AI partner. The app now features a sleek new design, a one-of-a-kind “for you” experience, with content recommendations based on fan preferences and personalization powered by Microsoft Azure and Azure AI. Within the app’s “For You” page, fans can access a vertical scrolling, social media-like video experience featuring real-time highlights from every NBA game in progress.

The league’s direct-to-consumer subscription offers (NBA League Pass and NBA TV) will be integrated into the App, giving fans the ability to watch live matches and highlights, scores, stats and standings all in one place. For subscribers of NBA League Passthe live broadcasts will have higher video quality, lower transmission latency and a perfect user experience to consume NBA content in the moment.

NBA League Pass returns this season with a new package and at the lowest price ever. For a limited time, the standard package is now available for 14.99 (Euros or dollars) per month (99.99 for full season) and the premium package for 19.99 per month (129.99 for full season). Subscribers will automatically receive NBA TV’s direct-to-consumer offer as part of the new package.
