“The husband I have in heaven cured me”: participant of La Voz Senior spoke of the serious illness he suffered

The stories that this season of The Senior Voice They have become life examples for Colombians of those people who, in their old age, have wanted to give themselves a chance with music and have succeeded.

One of them is Gloria Elena, a participant in the Venezuelan Nacho’s team who surprised the judges with her most recent presentation and the story that led her to become stronger.

After performing the songPaloma brava’, the participant told the jurors and the public that she had two husbands: “The Bible says that barren women are granted a husband who is God, because then I have my husband in heaven and my caramelito here on earth”, referring to her partner, also a participant in the program.

That was when she told that precisely that husband who is in heaven healed her from a serious illness that she suffered nearly a decade ago.

“Something very special that my husband in heaven did is that he cured me of lung cancer. Nine years ago I had lung cancer, they took out half my lung, and right now I’m reborn,” he said.

His confession shocked the jurors. Her mentor, Nacho, affirmed that her presentation left them “hypnotized” and that she distills all the feminism of singing and that her staging is increasingly beautiful.

For her part, the Puerto Rican singer Kanny García praised her presentation, which she claimed was the best the participant had given during the season and referred to her illness.

“Knowing that you come from surviving cancer, that when they remove a piece of your lung, that is what we have to sing and interpret. It doesn’t look like you’ve been through a condition like that at all,” he told her.

He also told her that she was an example of perseverance and strength to face the difficult things in life.

For his part, Andrés Cepeda limited himself to dedicating a small verse of a song dedicated to his eyes and told him “you are unique”.

With her presentation, Gloria Elena managed to get into the group of the three finalists of the musical competition.

‘Copito de nieve’, from ‘La Voz Senior’, forgot the lyrics of the song in the semifinal; so he managed to overcome the awkward moment

This Thursday night the program The Senior Voice defined its first finalist and the members of Andrés Cepeda’s team were in charge of moving to the diamond to offer a very exciting battle and choose their representative in the most important gala of the contest.

The dynamics of the presentation forced each contestant to go on stage twice and in his second staging, Adela, who is affectionately called Snowflake, decided to perform ‘Perfidia’, one of the best-known songs by maestro Alberto Domínguez.

It all started on wheels, but, seconds later, Snowflake stopped and said “I’ll come back and start”, phrase with which he implied that he did not remember the lyrics. His coach, the singer Andrés Cepeda, indicated with a gesture that he should continue and not stop.

Adela, with her overwhelming attitude, knew how to handle the situation, she apologized and, making signs with her hands and her head, explained that she did not remember the small fragment of the song; at that moment, Cepeda indicated the line that he had forgotten and she was able to resume and move forward with her presentation.

The public recognized his effort and clapped when glass of snow finished his performance. There the participant was embarrassed by the situation, but the juries and the presenter Laura Acuña were in charge of emphasizing the positive of her exit to the stage.

“I had not warned them of my memory. […] That you forget here on stage, that’s not anything, if you’ll excuse me?”said the woman, who looked like one of the strongest competitors on the Cepeda team.
