Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have used their social networks to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘Sex and the City’.
The dramatic comedy, which followed the lives of New York best friends Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, Miranda Hobbes and Samantha Jones, first aired on June 6, 1998.
The series came to an end in 2004, after six seasons, and spawned: two ‘Sex and the City’ movies, a prequel titled ‘The Carrie Diaries‘ and the recent series spinoff, ‘And Just Like That’, which premieres its second season this June.
Parker celebrated the milestone by sharing on Instagram a photo of her iconic necklace with the name ‘Carrie’ spelled out, alongside the caption: “They are our silver wedding anniversary, but the memories will always be golden“.
Nixon, who plays Miranda, posted an old photo of her character alongside a recent one, writing: “How it started [y] How is Miranda Hobbes doing? I can’t believe ‘Sex and the City’ came out 25 years ago“.
“Before the series I never thought that something as big and wonderful as this could happen to me.. Now I can’t imagine my life without her. I know it holds a special place in many of your hearts as well, so thanks for watching.”
For his part, Davis posted a video montage with some clips from the series and wrote: “It is impossible to believe that 25 years have passed! I consider myself the luckiest person in the world to be part of a story that unites so many of us.. It has been and continues to be a joy. Thank you to all of you who have joined us on this journey. we love you“.
Kim Catrall, who played Samantha, is the only one of the original four leads who has yet to comment on the anniversary.
The actress decided not to reprise her role in ‘And Just Like That’ after her public dispute with Parker. However, it has recently been announced that she will make a brief cameo in the second season of the spin-off.
‘And Just Like That’ has its first season available for streaming on HBO Max. The second season will premiere on the platform on June 22.
