New series will address the soccer rivalry of the USA and Mexico

Los Angeles, Aug 11 (EFE) .- A new documentary series entitled “Good Neighbors” will address the rivalry between the men’s national soccer teams of Mexico and the United States, the Prime Video live streaming service reported Thursday.

The three-part series will premiere this fall around the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Amazon’s streaming service said in a statement.

“Good Neighbors will reveal the political, social and sporting aspects of a rivalry that has become a must-see on television for the last 30 years,” he said.

He added that more than just a sports documentary, the series highlights the personal and professional paths of the stars of each country, such as Landon Donovan (USA) and Rafa Márquez (Mexico), “who became symbols of the cultures of their nations during their respective careers in the early and mid-2000s.

The production will also examine the exciting international battle to retain the most talented players, as well as the fan support that has made the US-Mexico border one of the most fascinating soccer borders in the world.

“There, players and families from both countries are the focus of recruitment fights between these two nations that are deeply interconnected,” the statement added.

Directed by Academy Award-nominated Nicaraguan filmmaker Gabriel Serra, the series will feature a wide variety of American and Mexican viewpoints, with episodes accessible to both English and Spanish-speaking audiences.
