Milly Alcock, the young woman who went from washing dishes to acting in ‘House of the Dragon’

Who is Milly Alcock?

Amelia May “Milly” Alcock was born on April 11, 2000 in Sydney, Australia. She is part of that group of actors and actresses who have had to build their path from scratch; no ‘levers’.

He dropped out of school to pursue his career

It was from 2019 onwards that he began to appear as one of the young emerging stars to follow in Australia, thanks to other projects such as Reckoning either The Gloaming where his screen appearances were already up to 10 chapters.

“I knew that this opportunity would be a much more valuable experience than getting a piece of paper. I never doubted it for a second… I couldn’t say no and I couldn’t let the fear and anxiety of not finishing school haunt me, because that would have defeated the whole purpose of leaving.”she told Vogue in 2019.

Milly Alcock and the jump to the big leagues with ‘House of the Dragon’

The projects for Milly Alcock they continued to arrive from 2019 to date, with more appearances on local television shows. But his life took a complete turn when in mid-2021, it was revealed that he would be part of House of the Dragonthe prequel to Game of Thrones.

The great moment of his entry into the international entertainment market at the hands of HBO is accompanied by a curious anecdote. Even though she already had a career on screen, Milly Alcock could not afford to live comfortably like a TV figure, so I suddenly had a side job or two.

“I never thought this would happen to me… I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mother’s attic. This doesn’t happen to people like me…”he told the Stellar outlet (via Just Jared). Alcock was at a friend’s house cooking dinner when she got the news that she got the part of Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon.
