Marvel Announces Its First R-Rated Series

Adult content! Marvel Studios reveals the first show to be rated R and to premiere soon on Disney Plus.

Marvel has announced its first R-rated series. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Daredevil: Born Again it will probably be TV-MA. This means the television equivalent of the adult rating.

Big changes are coming to the UCM on Disney Plus!

Responding to a fan in Twitter which asked “Is Daredevil going to TV-MA?” Richtman responded with a simple “probably”. Then he was asked the following question. “Is there any chance that Echo, Blade, Agatha: Coven of Chaos or Thunderbolts will receive the same rating?” To which the well-known informant about Marvel Studios replied “No.”

This news comes while the studio is preparing Marvel Zombies, UCM’s first R-rated projectwith alleged plans for even more TV-MA content in the future.

Why is it important that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ be like this?

While an R rating for Daredevil: Born Again isn’t a necessity, it is something that has the potential to elevate the series. Daredevil is a character known for his level of narrative maturity compared to other Marvel heroes, so a character-focused R-rated TV series makes sense.

Obviously, they can do something very special like what they did with Daredevil in Netflix without that R rating, but it’s that little bit of maturity is what elevates the experience and makes the series incredibly faithful to the source material. from Marvel Comics. With that R rating, the punches pack a bit more punch and the storytelling can go a bit further.

It’s exciting to see how the Marvel Cinematic Universe goes one step beyond its formulaembracing all kinds of elements, from the dark narrative of Daredevil: Born Again to a classic comedy like the one we had in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
