Kim Cattrall’s tough demands to play Samantha again in ‘And Just Like That’

The streets of Manhattan are about to witness the most anticipated return by fans of Sex in New York. Kim Cattrall, the iconic Samantha Jones in the hit series, she will put on the character’s heels again in the second season of And Just Like That.

Let’s remember that Cattrall did not participate in the first installment of the HBO Max continuation due to his bad relationship with Sarah Jessica Parker, and many fans mourned his absence. After all, Samantha was a fundamental piece in the leading quartet and the lack of her was noted in the reunion between Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis).

The fiction chose to follow the character’s story through text messages with Carrie and, at the end of the first installment, we said goodbye with the protagonist staying for a drink with her old friend in London after spreading the ashes of Big (Chris Noth) in Paris.

Everything indicated that this dynamic would continue in the second season, but last week Cattrall’s cameo was confirmed in the final episode of the second season of And Just Like That. Several North American media pointed out that the actress had recorded the appearance without coinciding with the rest of the leading cast.

Now the middle page six has revealed the conditions that Cattrall put to return to the universe of Sex in New York. And, indeed, one of them was not sharing a set with the rest of the main actresses.

As the publication has revealed, Cattrall’s appearance in And Just Like That It has come after several requests from the actress. Apparently, sources close to the production have said that the interpreter refused to shoot with her former co-stars Parker, Nixon and Kristin Davis.

He also assured that he would not step on the set of the series in Queens if Parker’s showrunner and ally, Michael Patrick King, I was present. “Kim had two requirements: one, that she wouldn’t perform with any of the other girls, and two, she didn’t want to see Michael Patrick King,” has assured a source consulted by Page Six.

In addition, Cattrall would have negotiated her appearance and pocketed a large sum for her. “She will receive a lot of money, that shows the power of Kim,” said another source: “They still need her in the series. But, although this may make fans think that she will return in the next season, she will not. They treated her very evil”.

US media have reported that the cameo will show Samantha in a car, talking on the phone with Carrie. An HBO Max spokesperson has assured page six that “the offer Kim was presented with was always for a scene where she was alone and talking on the phone. It was an easy and convenient way to get Samantha back. We’re glad we did.”

In the absence of seeing the result on the screen, Evan Handler, that gives life to Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte’s husband, has overtaken People (via The Hollywood Reporter) that Cattrall’s cameo is “brilliant”. Of course, he did not coincide with the interpreter of Samantha on the set either.

“Apparently his cameo was shot in a garage somewhere, not in contact with anyone, so the only place I’ll welcome him is in my living room when it airs on TV,” he said. joked.
