Joe Lara, the actor who played Tarzan on 90s TV, died in a plane crash

American actor died Joe Lara (58), protagonist of the series “Tarzan: The Epic Adventures“, after what a plane in which he was traveling with his wife and other people crash into a lake Tennessee in USA last Saturday.

The American portal specialized in shows, TMZ, confirmed that the aircraft in which Lara was traveling was a private Cessna 501 plane, which had taken off from the Smyrna airport, outside Nashville, and was heading to Palm Beach, Florida.

He himself rushed into Lake Percy Priest from Tennessee shortly after takeoff. Firefighters and other rescue teams worked on an overnight rescue operation.

The authorities assured that the passengers died and their families have already been notified. Investigating what could have caused the accident.

Rutherford County Fire Department Rescue Captain, Joshua sanderssaid at a Saturday night press conference that “We are no longer looking for surviving victims at this time“.

“We are recovering as much as we can from the accident,” said the authority, who also warned that they were going to remain at the scene overnight, as they finally did.

The actor who became famous for playing Tarzan was one of the seven people who died, together with your spouse Gwen Lara (66).

The list of victims was completed by: Jennifer J. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters and Brandon Hannah, all of them residents of the town and who they are part of the same church, they reported in a statement.

Lara immortalized the famous king of the jungle between 1996 and 2000 in series and TV films. He starred as Tarzan in 22 episodes of the series that focused on the character in his younger years, and which lasted only one season.

He played it in the television movie that came out years earlier called “Tarzan in Manhattan“.

He also starred in other action and fantasy film and TV productions such as “Steel Frontier”, “Sunset Heat”, “Gunsmoke: The Last Apache”, “American Cyborg: Steel Warrior”, “The Magnificent Seven”, “Baywatch” and “Tropical Heat”, among others.

The actor he was also a martial artist. In the following years, Joe, who has a daughter with his former wife Natasha Pavlovich, gave up acting and stuck to country music.

Then he married the Christian writer and pastor Gwen shamblin, whom he married in 2018 and is famous for founding the Remnant Fellowship Church in 1999.

Gwen also founded the Weight Down Workshop, a weight loss program that was highly sought after in the 1980s and 1990s.

Gwen’s daughter, Elizabeth hannah, allegedly sent a text message to Remnant church members asking for prayers following news of the accident.

Along with Elizabeth’s mother, the Martins and the Walters were church leaders. Brandon Hannah is Elizabeth’s husband.
