The PP does not meet expectations and the sum with Vox does not reach an absolute majority
The PP has achieved 136 deputies in the general elections this Sunday, staying far from the results that the bulk of the polls predicted, and the sum with the 33 seats obtained by Vox does not reach 176 deputies that would allow them to govern with an absolute majority.
This result considerably improves what was harvested in the general elections of 2019, when the then candidate, Pablo Casado, stayed in the 89 seats and 20.99% of the votes. In that electoral appointment, the PP obtained 5,047,040 votes in total.
The ‘popular’ have been the most voted in nine autonomous communities –Galicia, Asturias, Castilla y León, Aragón, the Community of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia– and in Ceuta and Melilla.
These results are similar to those achieved by the Feijóo formation in the last municipal and regional elections of 28M, when won in seven of the autonomies in contention –Aragon, the Balearic Islands, Cantabria, the Valencian Community, Madrid, La Rioja and Murcia– and also in Ceuta and Melilla.
