David Tennant’s return to ‘Doctor Who’ stuns audiences: “What the hell is going on here?”

In the season 13 finale of Doctor Who, the spectators exclaimed “What?” in chorus with David Tennant when they saw him appear from the regenerated remains of Jodie Whittaker. Because, although it is normal for the British series to bring together different interpreters of its hero on special occasions, this is the first time that a Doctor from past times succeeds one of his descendants.

The trailer for season 14 further accentuates this outrage, with Tennant as a Doctor in the midst of an identity crisis, her friend’s return to the show Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) Already Neil Patrick Harris as villain. To top it off, it also appears Ncuti Gatwa: the actor, known for his role in sex education, will officially play the new Doctor, but for now he can only echo the popular sentiment: “Is someone going to explain to me what the hell is going on here?”

What is happening is, broadly speaking, that Russell T Davies has returned to the city. the creator of Queer As Folk Y Years and Years, that regenerated Doctor Who in 2005 until taking it to its current heights of international popularity, he returns to take the controls of the TARDIS promising adrenaline in jets for the fans.

“If you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we have many more surprises on the way,” promises an announcing Davies “mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun!”. That is to say, what every ‘whovian’ asks of the show of his loves.

The new season of Doctor Who It will be released in the United Kingdom in November 2023: “We will give you a year to speculate, and then we will mess it up,” Davies hammers home. Let’s hope that his promises are up to the series that is greater inside than outside.
