Trailer of Girl from the devil, the new animated series for adults from Star+

We are facing a first season of 10 episodes between 24 and 27 minutes who try to make us laugh with the “mischief” of this teenager who harbors the power of the Antichrist inside her.

It must be said that the unfortunate man who writes these lines comes from seeing Velmain HBO Max, so things would have to be very bad for the Disney Plus series to get worse. However, as the saying goes, “never spit at the sky.”

Today, at Hobby Consolas, we bring you our review of the first season of Niña del demoniowhich is now available in its entirety on Star+, through Disney Plus Spain.

No one escapes the Devil

The premise of the series is very simple, although effective. Demon girl follow chrissya young woman who lives with her mother, Laurawith whom he travels from city to city as if escaping from something.

Indeed, there comes a time when Chrissy discovers that, in reality, her father is the very same Satan, who has been trying to find them since he was born. Of course, Laura has no intention of a happy family reunion taking place, and she has the weapons and techniques necessary to prevent it.

Good part of the Serie revolves around Chrissy’s clashes with her parentsexploiting the mechanics of family conflict, with the addition that all members of this dysfunctional family have powers that can sow chaos and destruction.

But Chrissy, Laura and Satan’s disputes affect not only them, but those around them, as they end up drawn into the spiral of misfortune they generate. So, without spoilers, this is what we can tell you about the series.

The series will take us through the semi-corporeal realms through which Satan moves, but it will not leave aside plots on Earth, where Chrissy’s powers continue to manifest themselves while her parents vie for her favor.

Good dubbing, but better with the original voices

We will not be the ones who detract from the work of the dubbing team of Niña del demonio, which includes voices like Lourdes Montes, Elena Jiménez or José Padilla.

However, it is worth noting that the original dubbing has aubrey square (Parks & Recreations) as Laura, Danny DeVito like satan and his daughter, Lucy DeVitolike Chrissy.

The animation style is not cut with the gore more beast and with integral nudes of characters when necessary. It is a “diabolical” series, so we did not expect less.

From less to more, but with downturns

The structure of the first season of Niña del demonio is quite linear, with a common plot in the episodes that does not resort, at all, to self-conclusive and isolated chaptersas we can well find, for example, in rick and morty.

There are many references to iconic movies like The glow, The Exorcist either Little Nickya film with which it has some points in common, but not too many.

The Serie starts without finishing finding its tone with a pilot episode that can leave some of you a bit cold. We can say that things are improving, although it does not reach the point of throwing rockets. Well, There are two episodes, the one with the dog and the one about the war at home, which are VERY GOOD.

The devil’s girl is, in general, a pretty funny series and, above all, entertaining. However, sometimes searches too hard for the easy or crude jokeand it is not always necessary to capture the viewer.

The same thing happens with language. Adult animated series tend to saturate the dialogues with various curses and profanities, and Niña del demonio is no exception. Sometimes, so much cue makes the dialogues not end up being natural, except when you are a member of the Roy family in successionClear.

The series offers a few hours of entertainment and It has room for improvement if the team polishes some details, but it leaves us with a solvent first season, although we have not fallen in love. Mind you, compared to Velma, she’s ambrosia.

Demon Girl is available on Disney+ Spain. You can find the series in the Star+ category, follow the warmth and you will arrive at the hell of the adult animation that this new addition to the platform offers us.

We would love to say thanks to the author of this post for this awesome content
