Under this premise, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series follows the story of David Martinez, a street kid trying to survive in Night City. Due to a tragic event, David is forced to get a military implant and become an “edgerunner”, a mercenary also known as a cyberpunk.

And so far we can read, because it is better that you enjoy the experience without knowing too many details of the plot, since it has several shocking twists practically from the beginning of the series.

With a total of ten episodes, the series is so addictive and entertaining that it will have you devouring Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in record timewhose plot becomes practically round from beginning to end in which nothing is missing: action, violence, blood, sex, love, comedy, drama…

All this accompanied by an excellent quality of animation under the direction of Hiroyuki Imaishi, the filmmaker behind other gems such as Promareas well as from the episode The Twins of the anthology series Star Wars: Visions. Together with him he has also directed the series Masahiko Otsuka, who has made the episode The Old Man of Star Wars: Visions and other popular series such as Fruits Basket.

To say that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an audiovisual delight is an understatement. The expressions of the characters, the setting of the scenarios, their color, the frenetic action sequences… Nothing is missing.

To its impressive visual quality we must add the sound section, with outstanding music whose soundtrack has been composed by Akira Yamaoka himselfthe former Konami composer especially known to all for creating the music for the horror video game saga Silent Hill.

In addition, the songs that accompany a good part of the episodes are a delight, especially its openingwhich is pure gold.

The truth is that little can be blamed for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, perhaps that some of the action sequences are so fast that if you blink you can miss a few thingsbut little else.

Although the story leaves a fairly closed ending, that does not mean that Netflix does not give the green light to more seasons of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners telling other stories within this dystopian future. We certainly hope so, because the series has left us wanting more.
