‘Avalon’: This is Neve Campbell’s new series after her departure from ‘Scream 6’

Behind the Neve Campbell leaving ‘Scream 6’ the actress already has a new project: she will star in ‘Avalon’, a new police series of the ABC created by David E Kelley and based on an original story by Michael Connelly.

The fiction takes place in the city of Avalon, the main nucleus of Catalina Island, where the detective of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Nicole “Nic” Searcy (Campbell) runs a small office. The local population of Catalina is dedicated to tourism. Every day when the ferries reach its shores, new stories enter the island. Detective Searcy dives into a potentially career-changing case that will test everything she knows about herself, and the island.

Campbell’s character is described as a lone female detective who has been assigned to this LA County Sheriff’s branch. In some inscrutable way, she is not intimidated and has a strong moral sense. Ironically, her strong ethical compass is what drove her from Los Angeles to this little place. It is the typical destination that no police officer with great ambitions would want to obtain. However, she will soon discover that her detective skills will be needed more than she could have imagined.

One of Campbell’s latest works was ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’, one of the netflix series which has been the most successful in recent weeks and is based on the homonymous book series written by Connelly, with Kelley also as creator and executive producer. In fact, the actress will play Maggie McPherson again in a second season to which she has already been given the green light. She will also appear in Peacock’s new series based on the ‘Twisted Metal’ video game franchise.
