An actor from ‘Elite’ appears in the new season of ‘The Crown’

The experiences and controversies of the British royal family are once again a relevant topic in daily conversations, after the premiere of the fifth season of ‘The Crown’; the super production of Netflix which narrates the reign of the recently deceased Elizabeth II. Since last Wednesday, viewers have been massively consuming the ten chapters that make up the fifth installment of the series, which focuses on the ‘annus horribilis’ of the monarch, with the deterioration and subsequent divorce of the Prince of Wales, Carlos Windsor – the current king -, and Diana of Wales. It was a year full of scandals with the publication of the book ‘Diana: her true story’ and a bawdy conversation between Isabell II’s eldest son and her then lover, Camilla Parker Bowles.

The new season of the series, written and directed by Peter Morgan, is also the cast renewal – changes a second time – to adapt to the real age of the protagonists of the story. The cast is led by Imelda Stauntonwho played the villain Dolores Umbridge in the ‘Harry Potter’ saga and Jonathan Pryce (‘The Two Popes’ and ‘Game of Thrones’) to her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. For her part, Dominic West (‘The wire’) will put himself in the shoes of Prince Charles of England and elizabeth debicki (‘The Great Gatsby’) in that of Princess Diana; while Olivia Williams will play Camilla Parker Bowles.

From ‘Elite’ to ‘The Crown

One of the surprises of the cast is produced by the appearance of a Spanish actor, known for his role in the first season of ‘Elite’ – series also produced by the platform – in the third chapter of the series. This episode focuses on the media and economic rise of Mohamed Al Fayed – familiarly known as Mou Mou – from street vending in Egypt to becoming the Harrods ownerPossibly the best-known department store brand on the entire planet.

Its about Spanish actor Abdelatif Hwidarwho played the father of Omar (Omar Ayuso) and Nadia (Mina El Hammani), during the first three seasons of the popular Netflix series, which tells the story of a group of teenagers who study at the elite institute Las Encinas.

In ‘The Crown‘ embodies Mohamed Al Fayed’s father, Ali Ali Al-Fayed, of humble origins. According to the series, unlike his offspring, the patriarch (of humble origins), she was satisfied with his social extraction and had no intention of relating to the upper classes, as his son would do in the future. Face, therefore, the grandfather of Dodi Al Fayed; Diana Spencer’s last lover and who traveled with the princess when he lost his life in a traffic accident in a tunnel in Paris, under the bridge of the Soul, on that fateful August 31, 1997.
