Alex Wollet, a medical student living in Washington, DC, (center) became an Internet sensation after appearing on television behind former National Security Council member Matthew Pottinger and former House deputy press secretary Blanca, Sarah Matthews, during a House Select Committee Investigation hearing into the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol

Alex Wollett was identified by TMZ as the double of Clark Kent sitting behind witnesses Matthew Pottinger and Sarah Matthews at the January 6 House Select Committee hearing on Thursday night, July 21. Users on Twitter became aware of Wollet when he appeared on prime-time television, and many wondered who he was and if he was single.

“Ok, I know this is incredibly bland and shallow given how critically important the January 6 hearings are,” wrote the Twitter user LookingIsFun. “BUT, WHO IS THE BOY?”.

The primetime broadcast of the House Select Committee findings focused on what Trump was doing in the 187 minutes of the attack on the United States Capitol. It was the second prime time for coverage of the hearings and was planned as the final hearing. Committee members said in their opening remarks that they would return in September to present additional findings.
