A Gabo classic becomes a TV series

The novel by the famous writer and journalist has inspired this television production that will soon be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video.

The production based on real events tells the story of the kidnappings of a group of prominent Colombian figures such as journalists Beatriz Villamizar, Diana Turbay, Azucena Liévano and Francisco Santos Calderón, the sister of the former Secretary General of the Presidency, Marina Montoya, the politician and publicist Maruja Pachón, among others, in the 1990s.

These kidnappings had been planned by the well-known drug trafficker Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria and were carried out by the group of criminals who called themselves “The Extraditables” and who also made up the Medellín Cartel.

The kidnappings were committed as part of a plan to intimidate and extort Colombian President César Gaviria, and to stop any type of agreement with the United States to extradite Colombian drug traffickers.
