Yatra brings his “Dharma” before the public at home

After eight months touring stages in Europe, Latin America and the United States, Sebastián Yatra arrives in Colombia with Dharma Tour.

There will be three concerts in the country, two in Bogotá, this Friday and Saturday, and another in Medellín, on Sunday, perhaps the most representative for the musician from Antioquia.

2022 has been a year full of great news for the artist, who was singing at the Oscars, released his album Dharma, began a tour with more than 80 shows and made his debut as an actor in the series. Once upon a time.

Yatra spoke with EL COLOMBIANO about this moment in his career and this Sunday’s concert at La Macarena.

How have you lived these moments prior to the concerts in Colombia?

“I have spent some beautiful days with my family, I had my birthday in Medellin and I had already forgotten when was the last time I had my birthday here. We also celebrated my dad’s birthday, we threw him a surprise party, and they caught me at midnight on a stage singing rancheras with all my cousins.

It was a very beautiful way to start this new year of life, next to the most special people, those who represent so many beautiful things.

Being in Medellín prior to these shows excites me a lot, I am very excited to present dharmawhich shows the growth I have had, from earth to heaven, in my career, in my live shows.

That is because I always want to grow as a person and as an artist, that I am not satisfied and I look for things that excite me and help me evolve”.

eight months of
tour the world, do you feel physical and emotional exhaustion?

“There are shows where there is physical fatigue, there are others with a lot of adrenaline, where you don’t want it to end and you keep adding songs, that’s the beauty, every day of my life is different, because you don’t know what audience you’re going to meet” .

What does it mean to return to La Macarena?

“It is a place with a lot of history, it is a place where most of the international artists who visit the country have sung, being there is feeling that you are part of something special. I really like the path I’m taking musically and where all this is taking me.”

What surprise will the public find?

“I prefer not to tell you much, because it is worth living live, I can only tell you that more than a show it is a life experience, after these presentations I feel that we are all going to leave with more desire to live, to thank and love. You will hear a bit of everything, there are my favorite songs on the album dharma and also those hits that have accompanied me”.

How different are the shows in Europe to those in Latin America?

“The energies are different, because the cultures are different, there are audiences who enjoy the show in a more silent way, more concentrated, others on the other hand are more euphoric, there are countries where faith is more marked and when we talk about spirituality they connect more and I love that, enjoying different audiences, because they are opportunities to grow, teach and learn”.

Do you measure what you have achieved this year, from being at the Oscars to the tour?

“I dimension it in parts, it is a lot of information at the same time, what I like is that I am enjoying it, at the Oscars I cried madly with joy.”

How to keep your feet on the ground?

“If they knew my parents they would realize how I keep my feet on the ground, it has to do with my training since I was little and with faith, with not changing my values”
