MJM7 is not just any band. It is made up of Michael James Mette and five of his eight children. Together they travel the United States to share their faith and help pray through music.

“I saw my family as a burden that makes travel difficult or that makes playing concerts more difficult. So I thought, what would happen if I put it in the foreground? If I say “’This is who we are, and this is a characteristic of our music ministry”? And so MJM7 was born. He was born to say that it is not a burden to have a large family, it is a blessing, and we want to share that blessing with as many people as possible.

Now, MJM7 is releasing a new album, “Exile”. It’s a journey through Michael James Mette’s personal trials during the pandemic. Four daughters intervene, with voices transmitting hope and joy.

“My daughters have been very supportive of me on this journey. It is a special joy to hear their harmony on the album. Balance some of the moments of anger, hurt and frustration, to make way for a moment of release and say, ‘oh, we have an idea of what that could be.’

In 2019, MJM7 was invited to perform at the World Youth Day in Panama.

In addition to sharing their music with people from all over the world, as a family they had a special moment with Pope Francis.

“I remember that we saw the Pope greet our family, as he drove by, because there was no one else around. He in person greeted our family. It was very exciting, overwhelming, emotional, all together. This man who is at the forefront of all the Catholics of the world, who is in charge of the salvation of our soul, looked at our family with love and compassion ”.

Now Michael James and his family, the MJM7s continue to transmit their Christian experience with their music. She says her story is an example of how God strengthens faith through the family.
