Walther Arturo Lozada Floriano, music director of the very first Harmony 10, passed away this Monday, July 25, after being hospitalized due to health complications at a clinic in Piura. This was announced by the cumbia group through its social networks, with an extensive farewell message.
“With a broken soul, we ask God to welcome you into his kingdom and to bring comfort to your wife, your children, your grandchildren, your siblings, your family, friends and fans. To all of us who mourn your departure today. Fly high dear Walther, shine from the infinite sky there with God the almighty father. Eternal gratitude to you, we ask you to say guiding this your orchestra Armonía 10, who will continue to fill you with pride. Today we bid you farewell with the hope of meeting again this time in paradise, where today you have come to rest and enjoy the presence of God eternally. See you soon,” the post reads.

Quickly, the followers of the cumbia group and admirers of Lozada’s work expressed their feelings. Even well-known orchestras such as Papillón, Los 5 de Oro and Los Villacorta expressed their feelings in the publication. “Our deepest condolences to the entire Lozada family and Armonía 10. The Peruvian cumbia in mourning. Thank you for all your friends QEPD”, “Rest in peace master Walter Lozada, our condolences to the Armonía 10 group and the Lozada family”, “Our condolences to our musical brothers from Armonía 10 and the Lozada family”, they wrote.
Tommy Portugal and Bryan Arámbulo joined the farewell. “My deepest condolences to the Lozada family and our musical brothers from Armonía 10. It should be noted that Lozada Floriano was experiencing various health problems that kept him away from home. The group itself, through its social networks, on more than one occasion asked for chains of prayers for the prompt improvement of the leader, however his body did not resist anymore.
The last Sunday, July 24, Walther Lozada was of birthday. Unlike other years, this time he was admitted to a clinic, far from being able to celebrate another year of life with his family. On the contrary, this time he was fighting for his life, but his body did not resist.
On Sunday afternoon, the musical group spoke again through its social networks and asked its audience to pray in hopes of improving the health of its musical director. Although what was expected was not achieved, many expressed their affection for Lozada.
“Today is the birthday of our musical director, Walther Lozada, and our only wish is that he soon fight this battle with the disease and be able to get up. You are a great teacher, keep fighting with all your strength, we are waiting for you, at home, at work, we have to keep making music and touring Peru and the world if God wants it. Life has challenged you to a tough battle, but don’t worry, you can win it with faith. We raise our prayers for Walther, for all the sick, and we ask God to do his will, he is the best doctor and prayer the best medicine, he has the last word and we fully trust that he is a God of miracles .
