It is the official cover of U Banda’s debut album entitled ‘Aurora’, an artistic work that is among the largest murals in Latin America, according to its creators and the group itself.
“We are art lovers at all and the opportunity was given to elevate this tribute to ‘Aurora’ which is also our first album and immortalize it with this work of art”, comments the group.
It is a work of modern art anchored to what the artists who made the mural felt when listening to the music of U Banda. It is a conceptual feeling that unites two great artistic movements, music and muralism.
The idea of this work of art located in Duitama Boyacá was developed jointly by the members of U banda and carried out by teachers Iván Chacón, David Bohórquez, Gigo and Knizales.
«In the painting appears the living portrait of Aurora, a woman who dedicated her life to the service of the community and her loved ones; She is the co-founder of one of the largest schools in Boyacá, Colegio Boyacá in the city of Duitama, to which she dedicated all her time until weeks prior to her departure, becoming president of the parents’ association. . She is a woman to admire in every way. She is accompanied by Felipe, singer of U Banda in her childhood, and in charge of composing the group’s most recent single ‘Aurora’ », emphasize the members of the group.
‘Aurora’ is a song of love and pain inspired by the grandmother of the group’s composer Sergio, who was like his mother and today takes care of him from heaven. It is a tribute to the loss of a loved one. The theme explores pop and rock sounds, fused with sounds of cello, piano, folk guitar arpeggios, bass and powerful vocal arrangements.
‘Aurora’ is accompanied by a video starring the prestigious Colombian actress Alina Lozano and recorded at the Rafael Reyes school in the city of Duitama in Boyacá, seeking to evoke the memory and pay tribute to that angel who watches over them from heaven.
The intention of this homage and artistic tribute is that passers-by get to know and get a little bit of the essence of U Banda, that they listen to their music and their proposal.
U Banda continues to work on their debut album ‘Aurora’, a work that will be surrounded by poetry and a lot of Latin pop rock. In the coming weeks, the group will present two new releases: ‘Today I feel crazy’ and ‘Poema de blues’.
U Banda will be performing next August 5 at the Duitama Chamber of Commerce along with The Mills and Kei Linch. Similarly, the group will continue with its tour of colleges and universities in the department of Boyacá.

U Banda is a musical project of six young people from Boyacá who, under the influence of eighties rock, pop, blues, jazz and classical music, transmit sensations, emotions and thoughts through songs made from the heart.
From its musical proposal, the group made up of Edward Quintero, bass; Brian Prieto, drums; Sergio Lizarazo, voice and composition; Andrés Barrero, guitar, piano and producer; Johan González, guitar; and Gabriela Bheincke; voice; it conveys love, courage and a positive attitude, but also pain and suffering.
