The Alcorcón City Council has prepared a program of cultural and sporting events that will be held from September 1 to 8, coinciding with the traditional dates of the municipal festivals.
“Although this year we cannot count on a Patron Festivities given the health situation caused by COVID-19, citizens will be able to count on a different program of events, with health protection as a priority but with options for family enjoyment outdoors ”, said Sonia López, Councilor for Culture, Participation and the Elderly.
For this reason, the Alcorcón City Council has started a campaign to promote safety and health protection under the slogan ‘Taking care of ourselves is enjoying better’ in order to inform citizens about the recommendations and protocols that will be followed in the development of These events.
The program includes musical activities, sports, street theater, family entertainment, for all tastes and ages and will always be subject to the health situation and current regulations. In addition, as it appears in the current regulations, the so-called ‘bottle’ should be avoided since it is totally prohibited and the Municipal Police will ensure compliance with the legislation.
Events outdoors and scattered around the city
In this way, the events will be held in various spaces throughout the city, will have reduced capacity and will be developed with a strict protocol for access: although all events are free, it will only be possible to enter the venue with the prior purchase of entry in the portal https://www.giglon.com.
It should be noted that the number of entries will be substantially lower than in other years in similar events given the health situation, which makes it necessary to control capacity to guarantee health protection.
For this reason, López requested “the understanding and collaboration of the citizens in this regard since it is vital to comply with the existing regulations and limitations; We cannot celebrate parties like previous years, but at least we can enjoy performances and moments of leisure ”.
Free tickets will be made available to the public between August 30 and September 1 (depending on each activity) from 9 am and only a limited number of tickets can be purchased depending on the show. The precise information to access these locations can be consulted on the website and in the official festival program.
It is important to bear in mind that the arrival time at the venues must be the one indicated in each case, to stagger the entrances to them. Once inside the enclosures, which will be divided by sectors, attendees must follow the indications and signs inside, stay in the assigned area, do not leave the enclosure until indicated, maintain interpersonal distance, wear a mask correctly and use hydroalcoholic gel, among other aspects.
“The objective is to enjoy these dates with the protection of health as a priority, since health is the most important thing right now, with a program that, although adapted to reality, will allow citizens to have a cultural alternative, sports and leisure special for these traditional dates “, has indicated the councilor.
