This is the ‘romantic’ video with music from ‘Je t’aime moi non plus’ with which Ukraine asks Macron for more weapons

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published a video through his Twitter account in which requests more weapons from the French in an original way. Given the escalation of war with russiaZelensky has asked his allies for help in order to recover the invaded territories.

The ‘romantic’ video is accompanied by the song by jane birkin and Serge Gainsbourg Je t’aime moi non plus (‘I love you, neither do I’, in Spanish). In it, she asks him to show your “love” with a larger shipment of weapons.

The video shows ‘romantic’ images: a couple holding hands, chocolates and roses, elements related to love. There are also a couple of photographs of the French president, Emmanuel Macronwith the Ukrainian, Volodymyr Zelensky. In addition, they are mixed with videos of Caesar self-propelled howitzersthe same ones that France gave to Ukraine during the war.

“Romantic gestures come in many forms, but if you really want to win our hearts nothing beats the highly mobile 155mm self-propelled artillery. please send us more“, can be read throughout the audiovisual montage.

User reactions

This has certainly drawn attention to France and the video already has dozens of reactions. A user from Zurich (Switzerland) asks Macron to send them more heavy weapons because “the Ukrainians they are protecting all of Europe at the cost of his blood.” A Briton commented on the video that he “is jealous” that his country has not received a love video.

However, there are those who are against this original way of asking for weapons. A French user complains about the message that the video launches: “This type of propaganda that idealize war (and adds humor) is highly inappropriate.”

New support measures

This Monday, during a telephone conversation between the presidents of both countries, Macron confirmed his “full and total support” to Ukraine and expressed his commitment to increase military aid and supplies.

In addition, the French president announced last Friday, in Prague, after a meeting of the European Union, that the member countries would send weapons to kyiv, including the Caesar howitzers shown in the video. He also communicated that he would create a special fund worth €100 million so that Ukraine can purchase war equipment from French manufacturers.
