Third Heaven reveals the reasons for his dismissal

Prioritizing the upbringing of their two daughters and spending time with the family has been a great weight for the duo Tercer Cielo in their determination to say goodbye to the stage. The sadness emerges in the marriage made up of Juan Carlos Rodríguez and Evelyn Herrera when talking about the subject, but also, the conviction that it is the best decision.

“It’s going to be very emotional and there are going to be a lot of tears, but it’s what we have to do,” the singer-songwriter anticipated about the concert Trajectory & farewell, scheduled for February 25, 2023 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum of Puerto Rico. “It’s something we’ve been talking about for years. Evelyn told me ‘I want to be with my daughters, I don’t want to leave them with anyone’. We knew the time was coming, ”he added in a telephone interview from Dallas, Texas, where they reside.

Herrera confessed that it has been a somewhat difficult reality to assimilate. “I’m going to be honest with you. It has been very emotional because I am more sensitive and for me it has been super difficult. There are so many experiences, so many people we have met, so many beautiful people, stories that they have told us with our music, that has disrupted their lives, how it changed their lives. It has been amazing. It has been very emotional”, highlighted the artist, who became part of the sacred music duo in 2007, after the departure of Marcos Yaroide in 2006.

“It’s something we’ve talked about for a long time. It’s hard because we’re a couple and we have two girls who are now at an age where they need at least one of their parents there. I feel that family is our first ministry. That comes first, “said the artist about the decision that puts the well-being of Mía Channel, 13, and Aria Belle, 8, first. Rodríguez recounted that during the first years after the arrival of her daughters, it was more bearable to handle the commitments artistic, but now it becomes more complex.

“It has not been easy because we have been singing together for many years. We must recognize that it is dad and mom on trips every time, leaving them in the care of someone, needing help, or having to travel with the whole family taking the girls out of school, without them having their normal learning activities, and all that got to a point where you can’t. That’s why we’re saying goodbye, not to music, but to stages like Tercer Cielo because there’s no way we can both keep traveling and raising the girls.”

The composer shared that they have received numerous reactions from his followers about the farewell. “He is a shock. People from all over have called us. They have told us why, that we are very young and we should continue. But our family is the most important thing,” he reiterated. “But we clarify that we are not retiring from music, which continues as long as we are healthy, the plans to record. I will continue recording and Evelyn, later on, when she frees up a bit from all her mother’s work, she will want to record too and I will be ready to continue and help her”.

The farewell musical event will only be in Puerto Rico, although the interpreter longs to take it later to his country, the Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, the duo that originated in 2000, and responsible for hits like I will miss you, I will believe, Take my hand Y don’t cry for me anymore, among others, prepares for a musical evening in a land that has a greater meaning for the couple. Herrera, who was born in Arizona, reviewed the spark of love that arose on Puerto Rican soil.

“Puerto Rico has a very special place in our hearts. I met Juan Carlos there”, she shared excited about the interaction that began when the singer of Mexican descent traveled to the island to record some songs as a soloist. “Juan Carlos was working on that album. He was making music, the songs, but when I met him, really, he was all professional. I respect him a lot and he me. We became good friends. That’s where he started it all. I started to see it differently,” she added, and she shared that initially working as a duo with a love relationship had her challenges.

“I think it’s easier now than when we started. I was 20 years old and Juan Carlos, 23, so it was difficult to separate the professional from the personal, and sometimes, when he gave me criticism of some work, I felt like ‘how bad you are, you don’t love me,'” he confessed with a laugh. . “But with so many years we have learned to handle that. Now it’s easier, we found a way. I don’t take it personally anymore.”

The support of the Puerto Rican public definitely served as motivation to decide the farewell at the coliseum, said the also arranger. “Puerto Rico was the nation that first opened its doors to us in a big way. It is a thank you. That’s why we want to do it there. Basically, it’s our house.” Without going into details about what the show will be, he announced that it will feature some colleagues on stage. “We have several guests. It is going to be a very special production, basically, the trajectory, a celebration of the race, of everything that people have allowed us to share with them in all these years”.

When talking about their artistic footprint, they expressed pride in bringing words of encouragement to the audience. “All this music is very special,” said the interpreter. “People see our music as a form of therapy, regardless of the Christian message it has. Receive peace, many times. The legacy left by each of the songs is something special. It is music that is needed, that is positive, that lifts people’s spirits. Those messages have to be out there. There are too many people in pain, in depression, and not all the music that is out there is helping”, he expressed emphatically, and reiterated the commitment to compose songs aimed at lifting the spirit.

“Although we no longer travel and people do not see us as much, we are going to record a lot of music and continue uploading it on the networks,” he assured. “I think that way, people are going to be a little bit happy because we’re not going to disappear.”
