They cancel the Zahara Indie festival for not having the permits

The excess of music festivals in our country is leaving numerous success stories but also some high-profile cancellations like the one that happened this summer with the Puro Reggaeton Festival or the one that just happened with ZaharaIndie.

This small festival was about to celebrate its first edition this October 14 and 15 in the Cadiz town and it already had most of the season tickets sold when everything was blown up.

In a completely surprising way, the festival’s social networks published a statement announcing what nobody wanted to hear, the cancellation just two days before the start due to not having the necessary permits.

“It is with great sadness that we are forced to announce the cancellation of our festival. After many months of hard work in which we have been overcoming all the difficulties that we have encountered along the way. Because of the responsibility we feel towards the thousands of people who have trusted us, we must inform you of the impossibility of the organization to guarantee the celebration of the Zahara Indie Festival.

Forty-eight hours before the start of the festival, and despite the infinity of procedures carried out with the local administration of Barbate and the culture delegation of the Junta de Andalucía in Cádiz, and when the festival site is practically set up, we do not have the necessary permits by the regional administration despite complying with all the legal requirements established by the different regulations applicable to an event of these characteristics.

In this circumstance and taking into account that many people will travel to Zahara de los Atunes from other provinces of Spain, we feel obliged to inform them sufficiently in advance so that the appropriate measures can be taken for each of them.

In the same way, we inform you that in the next few days the return of tickets will be enabled through the official sales channels, including the management costs that will be assumed by the organization of the Festival. Likewise, the festival enables the email info@zaharaindie.site to attend to all queries.

To all of you who have helped us along this path, thank you.

THE ZAHARA INDIE ORGANIZATION”

This unexpected announcement has generated a huge stir on social networks. The Music Hunters agency, which was initially part of the festival organization and represents several of the artists who were going to perform, have also released a statement about what happened.

Also the well-known journalist and music influencer @criadoenterado shed some light with things they were telling him about the cancellation.

“We have found out if… it’s a shame about the end-of-season festivities,” Niña Polaca, one of the groups that were going to perform at the festival, said on Twitter.

We would love to give thanks to the writer of this post for this incredible content
