The Weeknd cancels his concert in Los Angeles after running out of voice on stage

Three songs had been sung The Weeknd when his voice failed him and he had to cancel his concert last Saturday in Los Angeles. In one of the high points of the Showwhen the artist sang the first notes of one of his greatest hits, Can’t Feel My Face, Abel Tesfaye left the stage without explanation. Minutes later, the singer reappeared, in tears, before a stunned audience to apologize: “This is killing me. I don’t want to stop the Show, but I can’t give you the concert that I want to give you right now. I want to apologize to you personally. I love you all”.

The artist, four-time Grammy winner, explained that he noticed that he had lost his voice when giving a scream during the song. She said goodbye to the more than 70,000 thousand fans who had sold out tickets for SoFi Stadium with a promise: to return their money and offer another concert with the same characteristics in the future.

Later, already on his official social media account, the Canadian singer issued a statement: “My voice faded on the first song and I am devastated. I felt her go and my heart plummeted. My deepest apologies to my fans from here. I promise I will make it up to you with a new date.”

The Weeknd is in the middle of his tour After Hours Til Dawn Tour, with which he presents his last album, Dawn FM (2021). He has sold almost two million of this album and remains in the top 50 in the United States and in the 100 in the United Kingdom. At the moment it does not plan to make a stop in Spain, but it remains at number 96 in this country after 32 weeks. The Canadian rose to fame at the end of 2010 through the YouTube platform and since then he has not stopped making hits. Blinding Lights, one of his mythical songs, has more than three million views on Spotify. In total, their monthly listeners on the streaming platform reach almost 80 million.

On the horizon he still has the whole tour ahead of him. He has canceled his next concert, scheduled for September 13 in Stockholm. For now, the following two remain, on September 22 and 23 in Toronto.
