‘A ‘Martian’ much loved in the industry

Horacio Eduardo Cantero Hernández (his full name) was the vocalist and leader of the Argentine rock group Enanitos Verdes.

According to the newspaper El Clarín, Hernández “took his first steps in Mendoza together with guitarist Felipe Staiti and drummer Daniel Píccolo. Together, at the end of the 70s they became the most popular band in Mendoza and decided to try their luck in Buenos Aires”.

Considered by his friends and family as a friendly, humble human being with a great sense of humor, “Marciano”, as he was affectionately called, became, along with his fellow Enanitos Verdes, an icon of rock in Spanish.

The band’s biggest blow to fame came with their second studio album, time trial, from which classic songs such as “La Muralla Verde”, “Cada Vez que Digo Adiós” and “Tus Viejas Cartas” are derived, which went around all of Latin America, being very well received in Mexico.

After the recent coronavirus pandemic, the Green Enanitos were about to reactivate their international anniversary tour, with which they celebrated their 40-year career.

Just last April they dazzled their Mexican fans with a sellout concert at the National Auditorium.
