The tenth anniversary of BIME confirms dates and guests for Bilbao, Spain

After the success of its first edition in Bogotá last May, the great international meeting of the music industry, BIMEwill celebrate its 10th anniversary from October 26 to 29 in Bilbao, Spain.

Since its inception in 2013, this congress has brought together professionals from all over the world in the Biscayan capital; turning the city into the epicenter of innovation, technology, networking and the future of the music industry. An ideal space to reflect on the challenges that drive the future of a sector that is in constant transformation.

BIME BRINGS A DIVERSE PROGRAM TO BILBAO
The Basque autumn will host the next edition of BIME in Bilbao for almost a week, from Wednesday 26 to Saturday 29 October, with the proposal to re-think music and everything that surrounds it. The event will have two main sections, distributed in different spaces: BIME PRO, the professional congress, which will be held at the Palacio Euskalduna, and BIME LIVE, which will be, once again, an opportunity to share and celebrate live music.

The showcase schedule already has 22 confirmed artists: from France, Anna Majidson; from Germany Albertine Sarges; from Poland Ifi Ude; from Chile Gianluca; Chini Png And Children Of The Hill; from Argentina Los Besos E Hipnotica; from Austria Atzur; from Euskadi Idoia, Gray Merino and Mice; from Catalonia La Elite, 31fam, Carlota Flaneur and Chandal Jacket; from Galicia Dani; from Murcia, I bite; from Navarra, Katanga Dub Y Edu Errea Band, from Valencia Sandra Monfort together with Santero Y Los Muchachos and many more to be confirmed with the support of Andalusia, Colombia, Aragón, Netherlands and Sounds From Spain.

Among the novelties of the next edition, BIME PRO will open up to new musical genres, such as classical music, electronic music and flamenco. The Film Music Lab will also be presented, where composers and film directors will work hand in hand, composing original music for different productions, the result of which can be seen live during the professional sessions.

This program will be accompanied by different panels on composition for film and audiovisual production, featuring leading figures from these fields. In addition, there will be a special program for labels with a focus mainly on independents. Another great novelty will be the BIME metaverse; and it is that the spirit of constant innovation that has characterized this event during its 10-year history, will take it to the metaverse in Uttopion, winners of the 2021 StartUp Competition.

SIMULTANEOUS ENCOUNTERS THAT BUILD THE FUTURE
Delving into the international dimension, with the aim of deepening the connection between Europe and America, this year BIME, in collaboration with BASQUE.MUSIC., will host for the first time a mission from the European Music Export Exchange, the association of export offices from European music, which will bring to Bilbao more than 20 experts in the internationalization of music from different parts of the continent.

Also, BIME continues to reinforce its commitment to equity and with the MUSIC EQUALITY FORUM it dedicates part of its program to discuss, give visibility and seek solutions to achieve a more equal and inclusive industry. Among the collaborating associations stand out MIM, Keychange, SHESAID.SO, Femnoise, Ruidosa, MUSAP, Discoveras and new ones such as WIM Colombia and MIM LATAM join.

Tickets go on sale on July 21 as “earlybird tickets” at a special price for PRO, CAMPUS and ONLINE access. Students or those under 25 years of age can obtain a 50% discount.

BIME is dialogue, work, proactivity and business. An open space that is built by and for all the people who work in the music sector where, in turn, all cultural and creative industries are welcome. The meeting can be followed online through the BIME platform, active 365 days a year, where you can also connect with professionals from around the world and enjoy the content of previous editions.
