It is evident that a band with the tradition of deep purple you can achieve incredible reactions at your recitals. It doesn’t matter how many years or decades one has been in history, there are always details that go beyond the most optimistic predictions, such as the shock they suffered Ian Gillan and company at their concert in Macedonia, something they had never heard in their long career.

This revelation was made by newly joined guitarist Simon McBride on the podcast “Scars and Guitars”. This was what he said about the way in which the faithful of deep purple they had received the substitute Morse at six strings: “To be honest, everyone has been very nice and kind, especially on social media, where all the comments have been positive. Occasionally something negative comes up, but I don’t read many comments like that anyway. It’s great that people accept me because it’s a band with a legacy and it’s been around for a long time. I really appreciate that people like what I do and I feel that every night on stage. In some concerts that we have done, the reaction of the public has been incredible”.

However, when it comes to valuing the support of the fans, McBride stays with a specific moment: “We did a concert in Macedonia. We went out again. We did encores and all that. Twenty minutes later, the audience was still screaming. I had never heard anything like this in my life, 15 or 20 minutes with 10,000 people screaming and asking for more, constantly, they wouldn’t leave. Even Don Airey and Roger Glover were shocked, saying, “We haven’t heard anything like this in a long, long time.” So I’m not saying it’s just for me, but for the whole band.”

Waiting to know if we will soon have a new album by deep purpleand after a few days his masterful last visit to Sevillewhat is confirmed is that the band of Ian Gillan and company will be Headliner at the second edition of the great Rock Imperium festivalwhich already has bands like Helloween, HEAT, Angel Witch, Tygers of Pan Tang, Leo Jiménez either Cyclone among others.
