The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) is once again in the news with its return to outdoor spaces on Friday, November 11 at 6:30 pm That afternoon, the group directed by Maestro Eduardo Marturet, recently proclaimed official symphony orchestra of the City of Miami, will present a free concert to celebrate the centenary of the Moore Building, one of the emblematic buildings of greater Miami.

The event, which has the support of the mayor of the city of Miami, Francis Suárez, is produced by Emilio Estefan and presented in partnership with Craig Robins, general director and president of Dacra, the development company, together with Brady Wood, founder and CEO of WoodHouse.

On this occasion Marturet, in collaboration with Estefan, will recreate the original repertoire of the inaugural concert offered in the building, in 1922, in a kind of tour that will cover different musical genres.

The Moore Building is located in the Miami Design District.

The list of special guests includes singers Lena Burke, Gail Seay, Martina Travieso, Tony Toyán and actor Miguel Varoni, who will once again put his role as a vocalist to the test with the backing of the orchestra.

The Moore Building, located in the heart of the Miami Design District, was built in 1921 as a Moore and Sons furniture showroom.

The building features four stories of column-divided spaces totaling more than 21,000 square feet. Aside from being the oldest historic site in the community, the Moore Building houses the installation of world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, Elastikacommissioned by Craig Robins in 2005.

The Maestro has conducted the Berliner Symphoniker, the Concertgebouw Kamerorkest, the Chamber Orchestra of the European Community, the Rheinland-Pfalz Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rhineland-Palatinate and the RAI Symphony Orchestra, in Italy, among many others. .

In addition to concert seasons, the symphony hosts free arts and educational programs for children at its headquarters, such as Summer Camp and MISO Children Voices and Ensemble.

The Symphony also offers free or low-price tickets to South Florida students, seniors, active military and veterans.
