with close to 16,000 artiststhe Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra (OFB) will seek to break the record for the largest concert in the world. The staging, which will be held in the Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park this Sunday, August 28will have as motto celebrate the truth.

In the concert, which will have the support of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá; the Secretary of Education; the Ministry of Mobility; the Ministry of Culture; the District Institute of Recreation and Sports (Idrd) and Transmilenio, musicians and choristers of all ages belonging to the OFB will perform.

“This is an unprecedented concert in our country and in the world, which has been possible thanks to the discipline, determination and work of our artists and teachers, but it would also not have been possible without the support and collaboration of each one of us. of the entities that will accompany us”, expressed the director general of the Bogotá Philharmonic, David García.

The staging will begin at 11:00 in the morning, and will have the participation of 18 groups belonging to the entity such as the Bogotá Philharmonic, the Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra, youth and junior groups, and the Daughters and Sons of Peace Choir.

In the concert, they will also present the children and young people who are part of the Musical Training Project “Let’s go to the Philharmonic” that works in agreement with the 38 official schools of Bogotá.

“In this concert we gather the ‘Great Philharmonic Family’ that we are, because not only are our almost 16,000 musicians and artists, but also the entire logistics, administrative and production team, that is, our entire entity, offering a magnificent concert for the world”, affirmed the general director of the OFB.

The artists of the Bogotá Philharmonic in total will perform six worksamong which are: a fragment of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (1824); hymn of joy, of Beethoven (1770-1827); Peace Dove, mmusic and lyrics by Jairo Andrés Sáchica Sáchica (b. 1982); choral symphonic arrangement by Ibis Amador Martelo, among others.

Due to the magnitude of the event, the concert will not be open to the public and will be broadcast on open television on Canal Capital and on the official networks of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra.

The event, which It will take place this Saturday, August 27.will also have the participation of the Women’s Philharmonic Orchestra, which will be conducted by the teacher Paola Ávila. Those interested in attending the concert should go to the facilities of the San Ignacio Church, located at Calle 10 #6-35, in Bogotá, at 1:30 in the afternoon. Admission will be free.
