The band “Mueres en el mar” presents its new album “IKIGAI” | TVenserio.com

The dream / soft pop group Mueres en el Mar publishes its first full-length titled IKIGAI, a work of 8 songs, where each one of them establishes a link with people or feelings, and at the same time, they generate a unity under the philosophy of life Japanese that gives name to this album.

The Ikigai concept is not easy to translate into our language, however, the closest thing would be a reason for living or a vital motivation, a lifestyle and for many one of the main reasons for Japanese longevity.

This term is not exactly happiness, but it is one of the consequences of practicing it. It was from this idea that Maca Carreño (voice and composition) wrote the songs for this album, discovering that her personal ikigai, what motivates her to get up every day, is the connection with people and with certain situations or places that represent a sentimental value.

“After deep collective reflections, with the band we came to the conclusion that the album embodies my Ikigai, communication and understanding are the most important for me, for this reason each song expresses a link, that is how “Precipicio” is a story of my grandfather, “Minds without me” is the relationship with myself, “Blood of the sea” is the relationship with the territory, “Irreal” is related to my parents and “See you” is for my sister”, Maca details.

This new work comes after the EP “La Timidez de los Eucaliptus” (Free Fall Label, 2020) and was preceded by the singles: Precipicio, Sangre de Mar, Irreal and Para Alcanzar, all of them accompanied by their respective videos or visualizer.

The group currently made up of Maca Carreño, Chio Barra (choirs), Maca Heredia (bass), Rodrigo Donoso (guitar) and Benja Plaza (drums), is performing its IKIGAI Tour, which will take them to the Bío Bío region for the first time. and Ñuble and which will end in Santiago with a great launch with guests at Sala SCD in Plaza Egaña on November 25.
