The music platform streamingSpotify has started testing Spotify Ticketsa new initiative with which it puts concert tickets on sale to fans and users from the application itself.

Spotify currently has a ‘feed’ called ‘Live Events’ both for the ‘app’ for PC and for iOS and Android, which locates live events in a personalized way and based on the user’s playback habits and location.

In this section, the company offers its users the possibility of buying tickets for concerts and shows. Once the concert is chosen, Spotify redirects them to third-party platforms, such as Ticketmaster.

Now, the specialized medium MusicAlly has advanced that Spotify has started the first tests of a new tool with a different format to this section. In this case, the ‘app’ will directly manage ticket salesinstead of acting as an intermediary with other ticketing platforms.

For this, the company has launched in the United States the initiative Spotify Tickets available both in the app and on the website of Spotify tickets.spotify.com, in which the tickets of different artists for concerts that will take place in the United States are available.

At the moment, this section offers pre-sale concert tickets for artists such as Annie DiRusso, Tokimonsta, Osees, Dirty Honey, Limbeck, Crows and Four Years Strong.

To access this service, the platform requires you to have an account and log in to it, as stated in its Terms and Conditions section. After making the purchase, users you will receive a confirmation email.

Spotify also indicates that tickets cannot be resold and are not transferable. In addition, in the event that the concert is postponed or cancelled, the platform will collaborate with its organizers to manage the refund of your amount.

Within the legal section of Spotify Tickets, the company indicates that it sells tickets on behalf of the organizers of the event, so its price does not depend on it. Likewise, it points out that it will charge a reservation commission that will be notified to the user before completing the purchase.

For now, Spotify Tickets is in the testing phase, as confirmed by a company spokesperson to TechCrunch, which has indicated that they cannot share any more news about their future plans.
