The band slayer is, without a doubt, one of the greatest representatives of thrash metal, a style characterized by fast and aggressive songs. 1: Twelve studio albums
Slayer released 12 studio albums, 11 of which are their own songs and one is a tribute to punk and hardcore bands.

2: Foot on the accelerator and foot on the brake
As you can see from the list above, Slayer released a lot of records in their early years of activity: Between 1983 and 1990, the group released five records. However, from 1994 to 2015 (a “slightly” longer period) there were seven albums, one of which was covers.

3: End of activities
Slayer ended its activities on November 30, 2019, after almost 40 years of much beating, violence and mosh.

4: It is the Big Four band that changed the line-up the least
Of all the bands in the famous Big Four (which also includes Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax), Slayer has changed line-up the least. Dave Lombardo was replaced by Paul Bostaph twice, while Bostaph handed over the bench to Lombardo once. The late guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who received a spider bite, was replaced by Gary Holt.

5: Tom Araya from start to finish
Still speaking of the Big Four, the only one of the four bands that never changed bassists was Slayer. Tom Araya held the four-stringed instrument from start to finish.

6: Foreign members
Slayer had two North American members in its original lineup. Bassist/vocalist Tom Araya was born in Chile and drummer Dave Lombardo was born in Havana, the capital of Cuba.

7: Classic that lasts less than half an hour
Released in October 1986, “Reign In Blood” is Slayer’s most revered (and shortest) album. The band’s third album has 10 songs and lasts about 29 minutes.

8: Serial Killers

9: “Hell Awaits” starts and ends the same
