Singer Nio García asks to terminate his contract with Flow La Movie’s label

Miami, Sep 9 (EFE).- Puerto Rican urban music artist Nio García asked to terminate his record contract with the company AH Entertainment, Inc. in a lawsuit filed in Florida (USA) due to disagreements with the “self-proclaimed” new president of the company after the death of producer José Ángel Hernández, better known as Flow La Movie.

The lawsuit was filed this Friday in the Federal Court for the Southern District of Florida and it is alleged that Ilianes Ruiz, mother of the producer who died in a plane crash, “has done everything possible to derail Nio García’s musical career causing that the company breaches its contractual obligations to the artist,” according to a statement.

Said company, he adds, was led since 2016 by the acclaimed executive producer Flow La Movie, who catapulted García’s artistic career, releasing musical hits such as “Te Boté Remix” and “AM Remix”, among others.

Puerto Rican producer Flow La Movie died last December in a plane crash in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

His wife, Debbie Jiménez, and their four children, three of them minors, the youngest of only 3 years old, as well as the three crew members, also died in the accident.

The lawsuit alleges that, as a result of the tragedy, the producer’s mother declared herself president of AH Entertainment, Inc., as well as her son’s sole heir.

However, the statement continues, “to date there is no Declaration of Heirs and Mrs. Ruiz intends to disinherit the only surviving daughter of Mr. Hernández”, Keigelyan Hernández, who is currently “fighting for her inheritance, as the sole heiress…”

On the opencorporates.com website, Ileanes Ruiz appears as director, president and agent of the company, which is domiciled in Kissimmee, central Florida.

“The law in the state of Florida establishes that when an original will does not exist, it is presumed that the person who prepared the will destroyed and/or revoked it and the situation must be treated as if the will did not exist,” he said. In the statement, Nio García’s lawyer, Edwin Prado.

Over the last few years, Garcia has racked up hits like “Te Boté,” “Jeepeta,” and “Mírame,” among other songs.

In 2021 he was awarded the Lo Nuestro Award in the Remix of the Year category with “Jeepeta Remix”, in addition to renewing with the Flow La Movie label under a millionaire contract.

García is a Puerto Rican urban music singer who in 2012 joined the company Flow Music, founded and managed by producer DJ Nelson.

In 2013, his career transcended in Latin America when he starred in the film “Reggaeton The Movie”, which is based on that genre during the 1990s.

In mid-2015 he was hired by the Flow La Movie company and together with Flow Music he presented his first single, “Infinitely”.

His career took off with the hit “Te Boté” (2018) with Darell, Casper Mágico, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Bad Bunny, which reached number 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs list.
