The weight of history drawn by Rob Halford in front of Judas Priest has made the time that the band counted at the microphone with Tim “Ripper” Owens is relegated to the background, practically reaching oblivion as far as the representation of the discs ‘Player’ Y ‘demolition’ refers both in concerts and in the band’s catalogue, something that does not happen with the years of Blaze Bayley in Iron Maidenwhich Owens is very aware of, as he has shown in a recent interview.
The talk of the vocalist who currently plays in KK’s Priest along with the former member and founder of Judas Priest, K. K. Downingwith rolling stone he also made reference to the two studio albums signed by Owens with the Metal Gods: “It’s funny. I won’t make any money if they’re sold on Amazon or Spotify. I wouldn’t make any money from the sales. But the guys in the band do. I’m surprised. I don’t know if they realize that. They shouldn’t need more money. It’s easier to find ‘Demolition’, but that was recorded in Atlantic in America and VPS in Europe. ‘Player’ was on CMC International. That was a new seal that sank. But it seems strange to me. I know I’ve talked in the past about re-recording them, but right now I’m really busy. It’s the last thing I want to do. However, it is shocking that they have deleted my stage. At least Maiden plays Blaze Bayley stuff live.”
Downing himself commented a few months ago in space The Jasta Show its intention to “fight” to make these disks available again: “It’s something I’m very adamant about, and obviously Ripper too, as should everyone who played on those records. Why should you object to records that you spent hours working on and were a part of? That’s not makes no sense.”
