Gerard Piqué was not the only one who stole attention after the announcement of ‘BZRP Music Sessions #53’, the joint collaboration between Shakira and Bizarrap that, after its premiere, became a global phenomenon. Amid hints, “tiradera” and darts, the name of the Mexican singer Paquita la del Barrio came to light.
What do Paquita la del Barrio and Shakira have in common? At first glance, not much; for the followers of the barranquillera, the overwhelming attitude and the forceful lyrics dedicated to men who, far from being indirect, leave nothing to double reading.
Shakira, as ‘the queen of rancheras’ has done in many other of her songs, was clear and forceful in her new single. “A wolf like me, she’s not for newbies”, “I only make music, sorry that I splashed you” and “A lot of gym, but work your brain a little too”, were just some of the phrases that he released towards his ex-partner, soccer player Gerard Piqué.

Since the announcement, the direct tone with which ‘BZRP Music Sessions #53’ is loaded did not go unnoticed among the followers, who included Paquita la del Barrio, author of an authentic hymn for all women disappointed by their partners, in her meme list.
“‘Rata de dos patas’ version 2.0 is coming – Shakira FT Paquita la del barrio”, wrote a user alluding to the iconic song of spite from the Mexican; while others tweeted: “Waiting for Shakira to update us on Paquita la del Barrio’s ‘Rata de dos patas’ hymn” and “Paquita la del Barrio, so proud of Shakira’s new one.”
This last wish of the followers, apparently, came true, since the Mexican composer and actress also spoke through social networks in the last hours.
