“My Life as a Rolling Stone”, a documentary that celebrates the life of this band and its musical legacy

The Rolling Stones they are a band that has transcended generations, historical moments, cultures and more. Not in vain, they are celebrating their 60 years of formation. Precisely, to pay them homage in the midst of this anniversary, DirecTV will premiere the documentary for all its public, My Life as a Rolling Stone.

The production, which can be seen from August 4 on both OnDirectv and Directv Go, will be divided into four parts, each dedicated to a member of the band. So, viewers will encounter the personal and artistic stories of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts.

“I think that despite having them under the radar and followed by cameras for so many years, we haven’t finished learning about the brilliance and ingenuity of these four characters. We haven’t finished learning about their struggles and achievements, and I think that’s why this documentary becomes an audiovisual piece to learn more about them, but also a production that seeks to inspire,” he told her. The documentary series is loaded with all kinds of audiovisual material that seeks to delve into the history of people, beyond the artists. In that sense, those who sit down to see it will find archive images, recently conducted interviews with its members, unpublished images and some special guests who have loved and have been inspired by the music of The Rolling Stones as Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, Slash and Steven Tyler, among many others.

“I remember that the first thing we asked ourselves when developing this production was: ‘what do we want to tell, what might the public like?’ So, we came up with the idea of ​​showing the fans those curious stories that had never been told and that Rolling itself would do it. Perhaps, this is one of the points that makes this production different from others related to the band”, added Condie.

Precisely those exclusive stories of Mick, Keith and Ronnie are intertwined with new and archive reports and presentations. “We didn’t want to talk about the same old thing, but that in those experiences that the band enjoyed and that they tell here, viewers could better understand their art and know why they got together to make music and why they are still together after so many years. ”, said the executive producer.

And without a doubt, one of the parts that will move viewers the most is that of Charlie Watts, who last year said goodbye to this plane, leaving the Rolling a little orphaned. His story is told through tributes from his bandmates, fans and friends, along with archival interviews with the drummer.

“Talking about Charlie is not an easy task. And it is impossible to show all his legacy in a documentary. I think the most beautiful thing is being able to see him again on screen, referring to his life within the band. It’s a nice way to catharsis and understand that he will never go away, because he is still present in his music, in his interviews and in the hearts of his fans and those who love him so much”, Steve concluded.
