Metallica, Jonas Brothers and great artists will give a free concert in New York; this is how you get tickets

Rosalía, Metallica, Mariah Carey and the Jonas Brothers, among others, will participate this year in the tenth edition of the Global Citizen Festival that takes place in New York to collect international aid against extreme poverty, the organizers announced Thursday.

The appointment of this tenth edition will be on September 24 in Central Park, although a similar show will be held on the same day in Accra, Ghana, which will feature performances by Usher, SZA, Stormzy, HER, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Tems.

These concerts have been held since 2012, coinciding with the meeting of world leaders at the UN General Assembly in New York. Global Citizen distributes free tickets to people who commit to sending letters to their governments in support of development aid.

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas will host the festival, which calls on leaders and philanthropists to relieve the debt of countries in the South, improve access to food and invest in climate solutions.

“Decades of political and systemic failures have led humanity into rapidly converging and deteriorating crises: climate, hunger, health and conflict,” Hugh Evans, co-founder and director of Global Citizen, said in a statement. “Increasingly marginalized populations pay the price for the inaction of our leaders and now millions of lives, so the future of our planet is at stake,” the text adds.
