Colombian singer Marbelle surprised the members of the Democratic Center on Monday by appearing at the caucus meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Bogotá and singing to former president and former senator Álvaro Uribe Vélez, who turned 70 on July 4. .

Marbelle, a recognized follower of Uribe’s ideas and faithful opponent of the elected president, Gustavo Petro, performed several songs, including “I will not resign,” according to a video posted by Senator María Fernanda Cabal on her Instagram account.

Marbelle surprised the members of the Democratic Center by appearing as a surprise at the caucus meeting and singing to the former president and former senator, Álvaro Uribe Vélez, who had his birthday on July 4.

Other songs performed by the queen of the tecnocarrilera was “Pa’ todo el año”, which is originally by Lucha Villa and José Alfredo Jiménez. “For from now on I am no longer interested in love, I will sing all over the world my pain and my sadness. Because I know that from this blow I am no longer going to get up and even if I did not want it, I am going to die of love ”, was one of the verses interpreted by the singer.

But that was not all. She also sang “Eternal Love”, a great success by Juan Gabriel.

Uribe’s response was immediate. According to Week, he recited a poem by Pablo Neruda and Pedro Guerra: “If I die, you don’t die, if you die, I don’t die. Let’s not give pain more territory. There is no season like this that we live. Dust in the wheat, sand in the sands, the wandering water, the vague wind took us like a great navigator, and we could not meet in time. This plot in which we live, today finite we give back, but this love, love, just as it had no birth, it had no end, it is like a long river, which only changes kisses and banks.

Of course, Marbelle did not remain silent and again showed her admiration for the former president. “This is a love that one can transmit to someone that one does not know, but who feels it as a father. And despite the pride of having the country that I have, I believe that part of the great love has been for you, sir. Thank you, because if I could give you my support for life, here I am, sir, ”he replied.

He added: “here is only one Colombian who has been able to make her dream come true, in my own country, falling down and getting up many times. And that is the floor I have, but as a woman I can say that I have fallen and got up many times. And that is the floor that I have to say what I do not want for my country, I hope I do not have to leave my country, but if I do, I will do so with the faith that you will be there, and many of you do not leave, that this is the moment in which we need you the most”.

Given this, Uribe addressed himself again with another poem, this time by Santiago Vélez Escobar: “For a long time, sir, I’ve been loving a woman with all my heart, she’s been living there for a long time, and she doesn’t want to pay me the rent. I gave my illusions to the ungrateful woman, in exchange for her love I rented it to her; the account denied me a thousand times and today I sued it before you”.

A detail that did not go unnoticed was Uribe’s birthday cake. This was made as a roll of film with photos of the most important moments in his life. The former president appears in images from when he was a baby to the most key episodes of his political life.
