Live Latin Grammys: the first awards were presented before the ceremony

The Latin Grammy Awards are a party to the show. Last year, Karol G danced on a pink platform between two unicorns, J Balvin sang under a pair of giant hands that prayed and Bad Bunny He gave voice to “Bichiyal” from a moving car.

This year, Bad Bunny will once again be part of a lineup full of big names, such as Myke Towers and Christina Aguilera. Acceptance speeches and in-person performances will take place in Las Vegas, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in a ceremony hosted by singer Carlos Rivera and actresses Ana Brenda Contreras and Roselyn Sánchez.

The 22nd edition of the Latin Grammys will air live Thursday at 8 pm ET on Univision and will be available on the Univision app (subscription fees may apply). The event will also air on TNT at 7 pm in Mexico, 8 pm in Panama and Colombia, 9 pm in Venezuela and 10 pm in Argentina and Chile.

Gloria Estefan will start the program with a medley of three songs and the guests will be Anitta, Carlinhos Brown, Laércio da Costa, Pedro Capó, Farina Giulia Be and Diego Torres.

They will also act Rubén Blades (who will be honored as person of the year) with Roberto Delgado & Orquesta, as well as Maná, Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Fernández, Nella, Ozuna, Paula Arenas, Danna Paola, the Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, Caliber 50, Los Dos Carnales, Julio Reyes Copello, DJ Nelson, Sergio George, Grupo Firme and Jay Wheeler.

Juanes will be accompanied by Rubén Albarrán and Meme del Real de Café Tacvba to interpret “I don’t have money” by Juan Gabriel, and C. Tangana will take the stage with Antonio Carmona, Diego del Morao, Jorge Drexler, Israel Fernández, La Húngara, Natalia Lafourcade and Omar Apollo. Descemer Bueno, Gente de Zona and Yotuel will premiere on acoustic “Patria y vida”, nominated for song of the year. Mon Laferte and Gloria Trevi will join René Camacho’s La Arrolladora Banda El Limón to present “La mujer”, nominated for best pop song.

Additionally, Christina Aguilera, who last took the stage at the Latin Grammys in 2000, has announced an extensive performance that includes her latest single, “Pa mis chicas,” featuring Nicki Nicole, Nathy Peluso and Becky G.

We must be attentive to the always disputed category of album of the year: this time it will be a contest between eleven songs: “If you had wanted” by Pablo Alborán, “Todo de ti” by Rauw Alejandro, “Un amor eterno (ballad version) ”By Marc Anthony,“ A tu lado ”by Paula Arenas,“ Bohemio ”by Andrés Calamaro and Julio Iglesias,“ Vida de rico ”by Camilo,“ Séltame, Bogotá ”by Diamante Eléctrico,“ Amen ”by Ricardo Montaner, Mau and Ricky, Camilo and Evaluna Montaner, “God wanted it that way” by Ricardo Montaner and Juan Luis Guerra, “You forgot” by C. Tangana and Omar Apolo, and “Maybe” by Caetano Veloso and Tom Veloso.

The official opening ceremony – the show leading up to the main event in which 45 of the 53 categories will be awarded – begins at 4:00 pm ET and will be hosted by singer-songwriter Kany García and actress Carolina Dieckmann. It will be held at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Mandalay Bay, and will be broadcast worldwide on the Facebook Live channel and Latin Grammys YouTube.

The premiere ceremony will also feature performances by several of the nominees, such as Gera Demara, Nora González, Zoe Gotusso, Love of Lesbian, Luedji Luna, Os Barões da Pisadinha, Nando Reis, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Jon Secada. Lupita Infante, previously nominated, will appear as a special guest.

For the second time, all the categories in Portuguese will be awarded separately in a premiere ceremony for the Brazilian public that will take place after the event at 4:00 p.m.
