On vacation, perhaps, the girl took a second to photograph herself with a street mural and, incidentally, reveal who is her greatest idol in the world of music in which her father knew how to write major pages: Michael Jackson. oops?
No, we are not here saying that your father is not your biggest idol. Gustavo is “dad” for Lisa, he was not among the possible candidates. But it is remarkable a fact that is not new in the history of Argentine classic rock. Already years before, the children of the memorable Luis Alberto Spinetta came out dancers, lovers of the most danceable pop and of the very New York rap. That choice of the sons of a rock and roll genius caused quite a stir –including the family one– in the rocker world.
Now another daughter of a famous rocker confesses that her taste is more for that vein of danceable music. It is true: Gustavo was never a musician committed to the social. But the fact that descendants of a music so linked to the counterculture confess to being a fan of a danceable reference calls our attention, just as much as the fact that the greatest idol of Paris Jackson, daughter of “Maicol” is John Lennon, that is to say the inverse equation.
And one last observation, to close: Dante and Valentino Spinetta are older than Lisa and lived the best years of the King of Pop. Lisa came decades later. Beautiful example of the indelible mark that Michael Jackson left, no longer in his cogeneration, but in the very history of music.
