León Larregui mourns the death of the sisters who went to the Zoé concert

Leon larregui, vocalist of the Mexican band Zoe, mourned the death of the sisters Sofia and Esmeraldawho were on their way to the concert at the Sport’s palacebut an open drain near the Velodrome metro station took their lives after falling into it.

“I’ve been dying of sadness since last night, after learning about this tragedy, my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the families of Sofía and Esmeralda,” put the 48-year-old singer-songwriter.

On the other hand, Larregui demanded that the authorities there are responsible after the tragedy that was experienced, coupled with taking action on the matter so that an event of this type never happens again.

“We demand from the responsible authorities, actions that prevent this type of irreparable misfortune,” he commented.

What happened to the sisters Sofía and Esmeralda?

On Thursday night, Sofía and Esmeralda were on their way to see Zoe’s concert, but due to the lack of lighting in the pedestrian crossing of Río de la Piedad and Añil, in the Iztacalco mayor’s office, one of them fell into a uncovered strainer, of a height of five meters; while trying to help her, the other woman also suffered the same fate, which took their lives after they drowned.

“I shouldn’t have bought him the tickets,” his mother lamented

After the unfortunate events, the mother of the deceased sisters, between tears, he regretted having bought the tickets for them to attend the concert, since otherwise they would still be alive.

“If I had known, I would not have bought their tickets,” Jorge Becerril told journalist.
