Latin artists join exclusive meeting “Live In The Vineyard” – Hola News

Napa (CA), Nov 2 (EFE).- Between vineyards in the fall and before executives who could change their lives, Reik, Kany García, Monsieur Periné and Lupita Infante led the first participation of Latin artists in “Live In The Vineyard” ( En Vivo En El Viñedo), one of the most exclusive musical gatherings in the world.

“We have been doing this meeting for 15 years and finally our dream of incorporating Latin music has come true,” Bobbii Hach-Jacobs, founder and director of the event, told EFE.

“Live In The Vineyard (LITV)” brings together in California’s Napa Valley -the epicenter of wine in the United States- the most important music supervisors in the country, who choose the songs for Hollywood movies and series and major sports activities.

Among those present at the three-day activity are representatives from companies such as Apple +, Paramount +, Netflix, HBO and Fox Studios, production companies that work with luxury brands and Major League Baseball and CBS Sports.

“I made a space on my tour to sing here because I think we are making history for Latin music,” said Puerto Rican Kany García, who was part of the opening session of the event.

García, who barely had 24 hours of rest on an international tour whose next stop is today in Mexico, presented like the rest of his companions a 20-minute set, with songs like “De Puta Madre” and “Agüita de Coco”.

She was preceded by the Venezuelan Nella, the Brazilian Tiago Iorc and the Colombian group Monsieur Periné, who had the honor of being the first in the history of the festival to put the small audience of about 70 people to dance in the 15 years of LITV.

“It is a great illusion to think that our music can be in big productions in the future,” acknowledged Nella, who received the Latin Grammy for best new artist in 2019.

American pianist Arthur Hanlon, Costa Rican singer-songwriter Debi Nova from Costa Rica, and young artists Alih Jey and Gale closed the first day.

All participating Latin artists are part of Sony Music Latin and other Sony Music companies.

“We curate our catalog of artists to show the diversity of the music that Latin artists are making,” Darlene Rodríguez, senior director of music licensing at Sony Music, one of the forces behind the Latin edition of LITV, told EFE.

Among the biggest surprises were the Chinese-Ecuadorian singer-songwriter Ren Kai and the Bonairean artist Ir Sais, who presented songs in three languages each. The first in Spanish, English and Mandarin, while the second replaced Mandarin with Papiamento, the language spoken in the Netherlands Antilles.

For the closing of the meeting, in which boleros, cumbia, soka, ballads, reggaeton, country, Creole music, salsa and pop, among other genres, were played, the legendary Uptown Theater was chosen, with a concert with artists such as Reik and Bebe Rexha .

Lupita Infante, a descendant of the iconic Mexican artist Pedro Infante, was selected to fire the music supervisors at an “after-party”.
