The drummer of JUDAS PRIEST Scott Travis has discussed his introduction to the group’s classic “Painkiller” in an interview with Drumtalk.

“I always loved drum intros to certain songs. We all know LED ZEPPELIN’s “Rock And Roll”, AEROSMITH’s “Walk This Way” or of course VAN HALEN’s “Hot For Teacher”, I grew up with that, always thinking about whether someone could put out a classic drum intro, no guitars, just drums, and make it really punchy. Sometimes I get excited now that I’ve been playing it for so long, to be able to put out something like that… I’m glad people appreciate “Painkiller” and feel has become a classic theme JUDAS PRIESTsomething I wouldn’t have imagined in a million years.”
