Joey Jordison, drummer and founder of Slipknot, has passed away

Joey Jordison, drummer and co-founder of the band Slipknot, passed away Monday, according to a statement issued by the family.

“Joey’s death has left us empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sadness. For those who knew Joey, they understood his quick wit, gentle personality, giant heart, and love for all things family and music.“, indicated the text.

According to ‘CNN’, Jordison announced in 2016 that he had been diagnosed with a strange disease in his nervous system.

After knowing the death of this musician, hundreds of Internet users shared messages to honor him and express their sadness.

Even Metallica, a renowned musical band, shared a ‘post’ on their Instagram account to remember Jordison.

“RIP brother …” was the message that accompanied the publication.

Sisaenum was another of the bands that published a message in tribute to Jordison.

Musical trajectory

Joey Jordison was one of the founders of the band Slipknot, which originated in 1995 in the city of Des Moienes, located in the state of Iowa, in the United States.

Since then, Jordison was the drummer of the musical group until in 2013 he separated.

According to ‘CNN’, at the time, the other members of the band would have informed him that he would no longer be part of Slipknot.

Jordison even spoke about the issue in an interview with the specialized media ‘Metal Hammer’ and did not hide that he was hurt by the way the news was communicated to him, since the announcement would have been through an email.

It is worth noting that this American drummer was also part of other musical groupss como  Scar the Martyr, Vimic and Sinsaenum.
