Every night, the second edition of ‘The Senior Voice’ surprises viewers with the arrival of more seniors on the music scene, demonstrating the talent they have cultivated throughout their lives. The trainers Andres Cepeda, Kany Garcia and Nacho They are pleasantly impressed by the talent of each new contestant who arrives looking for a spot on the program and who, due to life circumstances, had previously not been able to dedicate themselves to music.

The great message of this program is that older people show that it is never too late to fulfill a dream, since the vast majority of them dedicated a large part of their lives to other tasks because at the time their families did not support them. Others, although they did dedicate themselves to music, they did not have the support to become recognized artists.

In the most recent episode, a very special talent surprised the three coaches who turned their chairs around when they noticed that the contestant was giving a performance that went beyond singing. The contestant identified himself as Jesus Antonio Patino Lopez76, who reached the diamond playing three different instruments besides singing.

Patiño performed ‘La mula rucia’, by Lorenzo Herrera, and pointed out that he decided to present himself with that song because “it has been a success throughout Colombia, throughout my national geography I have gone with this ‘mula rucia’, but with my group ‘The harmonics of Chinchiná’”. Furthermore, he told jurors that they knew him as ‘three in one‘, so he can play three instruments at the same time.

“You don’t need an orchestra,” Andrés Cepeda told him when he saw him. It should be noted that both Cepeda, Kany García and Nacho were turned around by the talent of this man and were pleasantly surprised to see him sing on stage, playing the harmonica, the guacharaca and the maracas.

Jesús is from Pereira and pointed out that he learned to play all the instruments from a very young age, until he developed the talent of playing them at the same time. However, the harmonica is her favorite, which he learned to play when he was six years old, because he fell in love with it when he saw her grandfather dedicate songs to her grandmother on it.

Before making the difficult decision of which coach he preferred, Jesus invited the famous singers to join him on stage, each playing one of the instruments he had brought.. Everyone accepted the challenge and Nacho and Kany kept the maracas, while Andrés Cepeda brought out his nationality interpreting the guacharaca with expertise.

Along with the coaches Patiño performed the song ‘Grito vagabundo’ by Guillermo Buitrago with his voice and harmonica. At the end he expressed, “I am older than Cepeda, Kany and Nacho because I am many years old, they are very young and continue to climb the ladder.”

As in the case of many other contestants, Jesus also has a life story marked by joys and sorrows. As for alegrías, he is a worthy representative of Colombian cultural traditions, which has earned him several awards and he has been a special guest in other countries to represent the roots of our country.

But his life has not been far from tragedies in these 76 years, as he had four children, but the oldest was killed in an attempted robbery, I remember it made his voice crack on stage. The coaches expressed their condolences to him and condemned the fact that insecurity continues to cause so many fatalities in the country.

My wife gave me four pregnancies, three male children and a baby girl, the oldest being 28 years old They killed me for stealing a motorcycle. It was a December 29I was giving a party and there the news reached me, I had more than 10 million pesos in commitments for the Manizales Fair, because there, who does not love me?”, recalled Jesús, who finally left with Andrés Cepeda on the recommendation of his granddaughter.
