If you like music, or if you have a patch of friends who take you to all the plans, this second semester in terms of concerts is for you. Backed by massive support from the public, which after covid-19 has reached into denim to spend on entertainment, 14 artists -including groups and soloists- will perform in Bogotá and the rest of the main cities between August 31 and December 6th.
In total, counting the main and smaller events, 2022 can close with more than 100 concerts in Colombia, higher than the 77 of the pre-pandemic period in 2019. Only the Movistar Arena, in the capital, points to this figure to close a “historic” year, in which records of up to 850,000 spectators are predicted.
“People had been quiet for two years, the entire public was eager for entertainment, to go out and see their artists, that is the phenomenon we are seeing, what the Movistar Arena is experiencing is incredible, because the events that arrive are selling out immediately , which means that there is an important dynamism in the entertainment sector and we have to take advantage of it”, indicated the stage manager, Luis Guillermo Quintero.
Colombians will enjoy several of the most successful -and most listened to- artists worldwide, such as Dua Lipa and Bad Bunny, for example. Also, there are options for old-guard rockers like Guns N’ Roses and the Pixies; alternative indie fusions with the Arctic Monkeys and a herd of young pop led by Rosalía, Harry Styles and Demi Lovato, now more inclined towards soul and jazz.
Also making its debut in September is the Cordillera Festival, which seeks to honor Latin American rock. Bogotá, the venue for this event, will also receive most of the great artists. Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla will do the same with Daddy Yankee and Andrés Calamaro.
“In entertainment spending we have evolved in a very forceful way. Before, the perception was that people had no interest in paying a ticket, but this year what this has shown us is that the public greatly values shows and seeing their artists live,” said the director of Ocesa Colombia, Luz Ángela Castro.
If your goal is to go to all the concerts, or at least the most prominent ones, that will not be an easy task, especially between September and October, which are the busiest months for live music events. For example, between Demi Lovato’s concert in Bogotá and Andrés Calamaro’s, it costs from $1.7 million to attend each of the events. Of course, with the cheapest tickets.
Ricardo Arjona and Coldplay share a date in Bogotá, so he will have to choose between the ballads of the Salvadoran and the energetic jumps of the British Chris Martin.

The year will be closed by the two artists with the most reproductions of the list of this second semester. In this section, Bad Bunny and Harry Styles are titans of the industry, with 38 million and 11 million respectively. Dua Lipa, who will arrive in Bogotá on September 19, is another of the most notorious, with 20 million to her name, the same from the band Coldplay.
Daddy Yankee, king of reggaeton, accumulates more than 17 million reproductions, which endorses him to appear in four cities in the country. The last tour of the ‘Big Boss’ promises to be historic, since there are already sold out for most of his presentations in Colombia and Latin America.
